Four gas burners

The hob carries four gas burners across the top. That's four pans that can be on the heat at once, rather than waiting for a ring to come free during a big cook.

A tray of chicken or a cake goes into an oven that runs on gas. It is the flame that does the baking and the roasting here, rather than an electric element.

The oven door is glazed with two panes of glass rather than one. The pane you touch on the outside is separate from the one facing the cooking.

A gas cooker's brushed stainless hob fills the frame with a black cast-iron grate over a lit front burner, a blue flame ring catching around its flat black cap from a bright spark at the electrode, and a stainless-faced control knob turning on the black front fascia below.
